Spring Tune-up

After a long winter, give your bike a thorough spring check to prepare for the riding season:

Perform a thorough cleaning of the entire bike to remove winter grime
Replace brake pads if worn from winter riding
Inflate tires to proper pressure and check sidewalls for cracks
Inspect the chain for rust or stiff links, replace if necessary
Check all cables for fraying and replace if damaged
Lubricate derailleurs, brake pivots, and all moving parts
Tighten all bolts to their recommended torque specs
Take a short test ride to check shifting and braking

Fall Preparation

Get your bike winter-ready before the cold and wet season arrives:

Install fenders if you plan to ride through wet weather
Switch to winter tires with better grip if available
Apply a thick layer of frame protectant against salt and moisture
Switch to a wet lubricant that resists water washout
Install brighter lights as daylight hours decrease

Long-Term Storage Tips
